Fabulous detached ocean front Beach House located on a pebble beach in the unspoiled village of Pomos, where the pine  covered mountains drop down to the sea. Pomos is the most remote village in the Paphos district,and untouched by mass tourism. A perfect place for a romantic escape or writers retreat. This is a simple, but fully equipped and comfortable house in a spectacular location. There is a second bedroom if needed, by prior arrangement only.
Shambala is Suitable for couples or adult friends sharing. No children or pets please.

Details

Shambala is set just 20m from the sea on the rural and rustic Pomos coastline. The beach, being large seascaped pebbles with Sandy areas in the water, is perfect for collecting driftwood and watching the waves and you will need water shoes to reach the sea.  There are Sandy beaches close by and also a beach bar at the harbour with Cabana day beds and a great cove for swimming.


Pomos is the most remote village in the Paphos district, not yet touched by mass tourism and it does feel detached from the the usual places in Cyprus, with a rustic and rural feel. The neighbours are a mix of millionaire’s pads, locals, weekend holiday lets and undeveloped properties. Shambala is in the heart of the village, with neighbours behind and just the ocean in front. All rooms have ocean views, apart from the second bedroom which is at the back of the house. 
There are small taverns, minimarkets and coffee shops within walking distance and fabulous mountain  trails to explore.

The House itself has an incredible energy and is often booked for holistic retreats. It is a small villa, simply but comfortably furnished, and fully equipped, with open plan kitchen and living area, a downstairs cloakroom and upstairs there’s a master bedroom with spectacular sea views, a second bedroom and family bathroom. There is air conditioning for the summer, although not usually needed due to the sea breezes, and a log fire for cooler months.
This is not a luxury villa, it is a simple beach house in a spectacularly dramatic and rustic sea front location.

Local Area

Pomos is the most remote villa in the Paphos region and is around an hours drive from Paphos airport. Polis town, with it’s beautiful cobbled square, is around a 25 minute drive. 
The area itself is quite breathtaking and has a completely different feel to most of the island,with a rustic coastline, hidden taverns in the mountains and spectacular scenery.

Shambala is a wonderful place to stay all year. In summer there’s a gentle breeze to keep you cool in the intense heat. In winter, there’s a log fire and plenty of blankets to cosy up to after a long day exploring, walking and wave watching.

I came across Shambala on Facebook.. I have lived on this beautiful island for just over 9 years.. wow what can I say … first impressions never lie..from the moment I opened the door I knew I was in a very special place.The decor is simple but magical..the sea is welcoming you ,pure relaxation , memories of this beach house will stay with me forever . Five stars are not enough for the wonderful host Carrie and for this stunning property ..Enjoy and book asap 🥰

Carrie has created a beautiful place to stay - cosy, welcoming and above all relaxing. Every detail has been thought through. The kitchen is really well equipped and we appreciated the milk, tea, coffee etc left to start us off. There’s excellent wifi and lots of TV channels if needed - but best of all are the relaxing outside spaces to eat and read or just watch the sun set over the sea.

Pomos itself is fairly undeveloped but we were there in the first week of May and the restaurants were open, with plenty more to choose from along the coast to Polis and in Polis itself. Good supermarkets in Polis too.

Carrie was an exceptional host, making sure we were happy with everything throughout. Her Airbnb description and photos are spot on and the info app she sent us included some really useful info about the house and the area - worth reading.

Our weather was mixed but we still had a fabulous time - we would love to come back!

Wonderful stay at a peaceful and calming little gem of a place tucked away on the beach. Carrie was super efficient and helpful as a host. Even with the cold weather, enjoyed walks in the beach, peaceful solitude and evenings by the fireplace - great location to unwind which was most needed 😊 will definitely return in the summer

We had a wonderful time at Shambala Beach House. The location of the house directly on the stone beach offers a breathtaking view and the sound of the sea accompanies day and night. The beach is not ideal for swimming, as it goes in very steep and stone.
The communication with Carrie was without any problems and always very friendly.
Shambala is the perfect place for relaxing days with great sunsets away from all the hustle and bustle.

We stayed at shambala for ten days at the Start of November this year and it was really fantastic and relaxing. The sea right in Front of the house was an absolute Highlight. We spent every morning having an elaborate breakfast on the lower deck in the morning sun which alone was worth the money we spent. This really is a great space for finding some calm and relaxation. The location itself was also great - we were just half an hour away from akamas peninsula, where there is a lot to discover. The sea right in front also offered great snorkeling opportunities. We are very happy that we stayed here, definitely one of the best Airbnb experiences we had!

Carrie is the most amazing host you'll come across. This is my first Airbnb experience and she's done a fantastic job. The location is amazing and has breathtaking views of the sea from the bedroom and the living room. The rooms are airy when you open the windows and it's clean too. Restaurants and supermarkets are closeby and convenient. It's a home away from home and she responds quickly if you have any questions.

Carrie welcomed us with a hamper that has all the basics you need (Bread,jam,coffee, fresh oranges etc). She is thoughtful and put into detail every aspect of the house and interiors.The kitchen has almost everything including utensils and it's all hygenic. You should definitely come here.
